Located in the parish of Wincle, in the borough of Macclesfield, Wood Cottage Farm sits in a sheltered hollow in the foothills of the Pennines 900 ft above sea level. The farm is in the Peak National Park, our views of this dry stone wall landscape are spectacular at every point of the compass. On its day you could not wish for a better environment - the pure air and spectacular scenery attract visitors from far and wide, sunrise and sunsets are particularly spectacular. We have tried to select breeds of livestock which are hardy enough to prosper in this environment and after a little trial and error have arrived at Shetland sheep,Brahma chickens and Dewlap Toulouse Geese as our main specialties. In addition our small kennel of English Springer Spaniels keep us busy preparing them for work on local shoots.
